What to Expect
B&B Farms is a family-run livestock farm in Townsend. It started around 2004 as a hay business and grew from there. Today it keeps around 70 head of cattle, plus pigs, lamb and pasture-raised poultry, and grows ornamental produce and strawberries. The couple who run it grew up in 4-H and FFA, and their kids and parents pitch in.
For families, fall is the main event. On weekends in September and October the farm runs a fall festival: a hayride, u-pick pumpkins, a corn maze, a straw maze, outdoor games and children's crafts. They also sell fall decor — ornamental corn, gourds, corn-stalk bundles and mums.
In May, the strawberry patch opens for u-pick. The farm's site lists early starts — 7am on weekdays — with weekend picking until 4pm. You can bring your own container or buy one there.
Year-round, the on-farm meat market sells their beef, pork, lamb, chicken and eggs, with Thanksgiving turkeys to pre-order. The farm also sells online.
